The Electric Guitars / Sounds Like Sunset / The Escapes
Sunday 22nd July downstairs in the Green Room
The Electric Guitars have just released their second album, ‘Sideways Changeling’, and are ecstatic to launch the album at the Petersham Bowling Club with the delirious Sounds Like Sunset and the legendary The Escapes.

The Electric Guitars are renowned for their incendiary (read: painful) and often baffling performances (including supports for The Scientists, Royal Headache, Tumbleweed, and Violent Soho, among others), including an attempt to transport the entire venue and audience to the astral plane (NB, it didn’t work). They performed an entire set of power pop classics (a big change from their usual dense and epic explorations of nihilism and psychic doom), played a series of gigs intended as a soundtrack to the entire history of time, and improvised their own live soundtrack to Pink Floyd’s “Live at Pompeii” film.

Don’t miss this opportunity to hear their electric Stooges-esque skronk rave-ups, mangled Phil-Spector-via-Jesus-&-Mary-Chain melodies and grandiose Jean-Claude Vannier affectations.
